My SC sometimes lets out this light, wispy smoke. Kind of like breath on a cold winter day. It has no smell. It doesn't happen very often but it still scares me a bit. I could not feel heat any where. The smoke comes from the collar behind the wheel and out of the side where the turn signal stick is. Any ideas of what it could be from?

There's a bunch of wires and contacts in that area that could be shorting out due to lack of insulation.
Keep a fully charged fire extinguisher close at hand.

I had an exhaust leak in my 90 model that done that. Freaked me out. I would pull the cover orr just to make sure nothing is melted. Better safe than sorry
Girlfriends jeep would do the same thing but it was when you hit for the wipers I've taken it apart looked didn't see anything. Her wiper motor was acting up almost like a nss clean it out and work even better and no smoke so far

I watched mine short out once on the way to work when the cover was removed. Thats what you get when AMC/Chrysler take random GM parts and throw them together.
