Default Slow moving passenger front window

Front passenger window moves slow no matter the temperature etc. It sounds like a weak motor in that it will start REALLY slow then pick up a bit of speed sort of laboring all the way. If the window is all the way down it needs a push to get going. Is there a way to test if it's a motor replacement? I did a bit of cleaning last time the pannel was off so it's been cleaned and lubed.

Thank you.

From Joe Peters and well stated:
"Let’s play a game.

You pretend that you are the only one that knows what year/engine, etc that you are asking about.

We will all pretend you never asked a question until you provide at least the bare minimum of information about your vehicle".

Mine is slow, too. I don't have to help it get started, though. I figured it's just a Jeep thing.

'92 Laredo if you're interested.

Have you tried moving your hand faster? I have found my window speed goes up when I rotate the handle at a higher speed

My windows are electric. Not a cheap Jeep.

Cheap? I think you mean reliable :P

I think you answered your own question in the first post. If the motor is straining, your motor or regulator is probably going bad. You could go to the JY and get a motor to see if that fixes it, or hit up your FLAPS and get a new motor/regulator. It is a matter of how much your time is worth.

PS: Learn to take a joke. I like to get at least some enjoyment out of having hand crank windows, and this is one of those times.

Simple try is this. Roll the window down. Squirt silicone spray into the exposed window channels. Soak em pretty good. Then, take the nozzle from the silicone spray can and stick it down into the channels in the door and spray for 30 seconds on each one. Start the vehicle so there's more available voltage and run the window up and down a few times. .

If it's an early Cherokee, upgrade your ground cables and everything works a bit better, especially those things with a high amp draw like window motors.
