Default Simple question that's important to me

If anybody has a banjo bolt from an XJ oil filter adapter that's not in a jeep, I would like for them to measure the diameter of the main oil feed hole so I can figure out what size hose to use on my new oil cooler. Thank you.

Thanks, but it's the inside diameter of the bolt that I need to know. That would show that oil at that flow rate is sufficient to supply the motor, so that's the minimum size hose I need for the cooler. The cooler has AN8 fittings which are 1/2" ID, but many people reduce that to 3/8". I'm a little skeptical that that would be big enough to not cause a pressure drop. I know .683 is the root diameter of a 3/4-16 UNC fine thread and the bolt has a heavy wall, how heavy I don't know. Thanks for taking the time to look.

I have at least one out of a motor right now. I can measure in the morning before work or definitely after work if I don't remember to before.

I run a 3/8 lines on my turbo 4.6. Has made just over 1k rwhp for a little over a year like that.

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. I haven't bought any parts yet, but I want all my ducks in a row before I start.

Thank you very much, sir! This shows me 3/8 would be adequate, but because of the long run to the grill and back might create a pressure drop. At least it gives me data to work with.

That looks like a Mitutoyo caliper. Good quality at a reasonable price. I've used one for more years that I'd like to admit! I had bought an instant-on Starret that just eat batteries and cost twice as much. So much for reputation.

It's actually a harbor freight special, whatever brand they sell. It's worked and seems to be close enough for what I've used it for.
