Would a Alpine IVA-C800 work in a 89 Cherokee? I know the over hang of the dash is going to be a problem but is there any way you could switch the location of the AC unit to make the stereo fit where the AC unit is currently located. Might buy one for really cheap, just wondering.

I don't think you can fit the radio in the location of the HVAC controls because of the location of the HVAC housing. The area is not deep enough for a radio, I wanted to put my CB in dash and it wouldn't fit.

I don't know the specs on your alpine deck, however, I do have a flip out lcd kenwood in my gsx and it has adjustable in out and tilt location of the screen. I would recommend checking into this, as well as local laws if your concerned, ie. tv up and running while driving could be illegal. Hope this helps.
