Very easy job and your buddy is no buddy at all if he's charging you money for a brake job. I'd do it for pizza and beers!! Now, that's a buddy!! Seriously, PM me if you need help and I will send you a detailed write up on how to do it with tool sizes, torques and all. FOR FREE!

5 lug nuts, 2 or 3 bolts and 1 hose need to removed and re-attched. Then you will need to bleed the brakes. So call it an 1-2 hours for the moderately mechanically inclined first timer. If I were closer I'd do it for a pizza and a couple beers.

The caliper itself it held on by one bolt via the brake line. The caliper bracket is 2 bolts, and the rotor, if your replacing it, comes off with a BFH. Make sure you bleed the brake system to get rid of air. RR, LR, FR then FL.

If you give the caliper a gentle squeeze with a "C" clamp you can skip the, beating it with a BFH, part.

I was thinking that, too, but he is in Connecticut. I would love to visit there and wheel sometime, though.

Dude, seriously get yourself a Haynes Manual. One book covers the entire run of the Jeep Cherokee and Comanchee pickup. There are detailed insturctions in there with pictures and everything. You can do it yourself. I got mine at my local Autozone for like $15.
