if ou run it till it blows there a good chance you will damage the block it self, best bet is to just park it now if you cant or dont have time to do it now.

Yeah but the problem is that i need a car to get around, so im sort of out on that option....theres a nice 5-speed about 2 hours away for $1000 but i just dont know what to do if i get screwed on that to. Applying for another job tomorrow, hopefully two jobs will increase the money flow towards the jeep (hopefully)

I agree, if you really have a spun bearing it will take a very, very short time before it blows. And when it does there is a very good chance it will take the block with it.

If you are currently driving it and it's making a knocking noise and has been for a while I highly doubt that you have a spun bearing. I spun the #6 rod bearing in my XJ and it got drove at a idle for a few miles (less than 5) and when I pulled it down it was literally on the brink of letting go. I suggest you park the Jeep until you can fix it.

Depending on the mileage of the motor and how well it was maintained you may be hearing piston slap. I haven't read your thread about the noise so I'm just speculating.

Well the knock is loud enough to hear from across the street when its up to operating tempriture and the valves/lifters are ticking like a bomb to, ive added so much to the engine to see if itd help and its not doing a damn thing, engine restore, seafoamed it, marvel mystery oil and it all didnt do anything. Exspensive oil and and exspensive filter didnt do crap and was a waste of money. So im pretty much out of options

This may be the worst advice ever but here we go. I witnessed my neighbor's rod knock in his 93 wrangler, it sounded like marbles in a coffee can. He simply removed his oil pan marked and unbolted his rod caps found the paper thin bearing on number 2 piston. Went to the parts store and snagged a set of clevite 77 (standard bearing size) and a roll of 1000 grit emery cloth. He used the emery cloth on the three suspect crank areas working it all around the scored shaft he was using a cutting oil on the paper. I was thinking this isn't gonna work for sure, after getting it back together and starting it I was amazed. It was quiet as new and he still was driving it as a dd years later when I moved. I would say if it hasn't thrown the rod yet and your gonna replace it anyway give it a shot. The worst that could happen is that someone will call you a redneck! Get a friend to help, trick him with a beer offer. I find it tons easier with a tool gopher, when your under a cherokee.

Thanks i just might try that soon as i get some time on my hands, the next three weeks im going to be away from home due to a vacation i dont really want but anyway i guess the best idea then is to just park it right now and let it sit until i can get the time to fix it or get the right amount of money to put and engine in it?

Exclamation Had one

I bought a Titan 4.7 recently and i can say without a doubt that they are the worst motor you can possibly get, i had a pro shop install it and straight away it had problems, valve train, cam, the shop had to make most of the sensors then trying to get Titan to warranty ANYTHING is like pulling teeth you have to pay the diagnostic fees and then send the sheet to Titan then after calling for 2 WEEKS every day they came back with that they didn't think it was their fault, it was the shop who installed, the tech who did the install was sure happy to hear that, anyway finally got Titan to take it back , on my shipping fee of course, and so far i think i got 500 of the 3200 i paid. Bottom line run far and fast from Titan!

IDK... Kinda sounds like detonation from what I heard. Is it intermittent? Knock more when warm, cold? How's your oil pressure? Have you taken it to a mechanic?

get a 350 chevy and running gear out of a wrecked truck. its cheaper and more powerful than a stroker. plus you wont have to worry if other parts are going to break because its all stock.the mileage would be almost the same and you can buy adapters for the axles. its well worth it from what i hear. try this link<
