Question shoot my trouble

ok I posted about this earlier, now I've actually had a chance to get under the hood and listen. Got a loud tap synchronized with the amount of throttle applied. Lifters tapped before, this is alot more noticeable, smooths out with steady rpms in all ranges, so idle is quiet, apply throttle, get loud tapping, hold steady and it abates. Anyone.....anyone, Bueler?

Ya appreciate that (no sarcasm here at all, I miss basic steps all the time) did that, half a quart off, last change was three weeks ago. Penn 5/30. Rebuilt three months ago, new rocker arms, push rods and etc.

I'll pull the V cover see what I can find, thanks

No I didn't replace 'em. Understood the camshaft has to be replaced at the same time and I didn't want to get into that, I'm new at this. Got a can of seafoam, intending to try it.....any thoughts?

if you are not sure what your problem is , please dont waste your money on a repair in a can, be it seafoam, bg crap, or any other engine restore products.find someone who can diag and repair it the right way.

7 bucks to possibly free up a stuck lifter......hell I've wasted alot of money on things that matter less. Never ran any flush after the build so it's not going to hurt flushing it out in any event, 280K.

I'm thinking it might just be an exhaust leak at the header, its been three months since I bolted it. That whole intake/exhaust design is a bit flexy, so I'll just cinch her up when it cools down.

Oh and I'm sorry about your old lady......

Yup exhaust leak, note to self.....don't use gasket provided with dynomax headers.
