Default Shocks for 3 in lift

My friend is getting a 3 inch lift for his 1989 XJ and was wondering if Gabriel makes a shock that size...Tj

I used Gabriels once...they were shot in 10,000 miles on a passenger car. There are better brands out there at a comparable price.

You can also use the JKS adapter/pin eliminators.

?? You know those are designed for full sizes and are no where near valved for our little jeeps? They ride ROUGH. The first shock i ever tried on my wrangler was this one and it came off immediately. It rode like shi$! I don't know how you can handle it but to each his own.

The ones that my Rusty's lift came with are fine for me, but then again I dont really know what a "really" smooth ride feels like. The previous owner put them on so I have no idea what they are, but they are white. Rides fine for me, but I dont know how picky your friend is.

Do those really make a difference in ride quality?

RE monotubes changed my ride quality (i did not care if they did or not i needed new shocks). They are on the spendy side but they are nice shocks.

The shocks you get will depend on what type of ride you are looking for and how much you want to spend. Doetsch makes a number of shocks for companies like RE,Rusty's, Rancho, RC and a few others. They might very slightly but Doetsch makes many of their lower end shock.

I will say this the Rancho RS5000 shocks aren't a smooth riding shock. Good shock just not smooth. If you want a good riding shock look at gas charged shocks. Bottom line you need to know how much you want to spend before you decide on the brand and model.
