HELP PLEASE.. 1994 cherokee sport,4.0 4x with A C..224 k miles owned since new.. I have changed serp belt 4 times(every 50k miles)..It developed a squeek that I think is idler or water pump,(again)..Now I cannot get the steer pump to move in to gain slack,,have loosened all the proper bolts and even some not needed=it will not move enough to remove old belt..the tensioner lock bolt is all the way out and long tensioner bolt finger loose..STUMPED!! Hoping for some info my old age forgetfullness has lost..

 

if i remember right there is a bolt on the back of the power steering pump kinda hard to get to think that has to be lose and make the pump pivot but you said you have all bolts lose.. maybe over looked that one ?

Thank you Marc..My eyes not so good any more,,went out into 110% shop and fumble fingered on that side again and found the one not loose,,all fine now..Just needed a little jab to get more serious at doing it.We have five vehicles so it can sit until I get around to it..Thanks again..
