What is everyone using for tools to separate the two? Im putting a new tranny in mine and had to drop the whole thing as one last night at 1 in the morning because I couldn't get a wrench or ratchet on anything. Anyone got an idea?? Thanks a bunch

Its only 6 nuts...what's the problem
First time I did it, I had the center console and shifter out and was easy to get the top nuts with some extensions. I think its the bottom passenger side on thats a real b!tch, stuck behind the adapter, and barely no room to fit a standard wrench.

6 14mm nuts

last one is under the trans mount so you need to drop that (2 18mm bolts)

i usually pull the crossmember and drop the jack and get some reach room between the top of the t-case and the trans tunnel. I use a 9/16's combo wrench thats cut in half (length wise) so it's like a shorty wrench... then use the boxed end and have at it

Swearing, 14mm ratcheting box end wrench, 12 pack of beer.
My exhaust gave me the biggest issue.

Okay, let's make this more clear I guess. The transmission and transfer case are totally out. I could not get wrenches or sockets on the nuts since I don't have enough room so I was just asking what everyone used as tools... I've tried ratcheting wrenches and some swivel sockets and nothing wants to fit. I've for the two on top and one on the passenger side out but the right spots on the bottom and inside that steel bracket i can't get.

The donor TC I got by standing the tranny/TC up on the bell housing ( making a mess) then removed my nut/studs (6 14mm) put my feet against bell housing and pulled up on the TC.
Crossmember removed
Tranny mount removed
Linkage plate removed

I guess the wrench I was using had too big of an end on it. Everything went fine after I got a smaller boxed end wrench. Thanks
