so my check engine light came on a bout a month ago and i thought it was my fuel pump well i replace the fuel pump and its been still on, i changed the plugs and wires also, reset the cpu it went off for bout 5min then i drove 1/4 mile and it came back up.
well i discovered this wire just kinda hanging there, its def a sensor plug i kno these pics arent much help but anyone got any idea wut this is?
the location is in the front near wut im thinkin is the drive shaft/train

so for the record it runs fine, but wut the hell is it?!?!?!?

 

It looks to be the speedo gear was your speed gauge off when the check engine light was on?

 

kinda sorta, see when my fuel filter whenout, the jeep kept shutting off and on, and i did my best to get it back home it kept shutting off every12 - 15seconds if that, but while i was getting home, my spedometer was being stuck at the speed i was going till i restarted and it was dropping straight to 0. now it works fine but check engine light is still on
and around the same time when fuel filter when out is the same time the check engine light came on actually it was 2 days before... to be exact

 

Take it to a local parts store. Most of them have the scanners to retrieve the trouble codes and will do it for free. Beats the hell out of guessing.

 

most def, i literally just seen this wire hanging down today, ill prolly take it tomorrow... the fuel filter thing happened bout a month ago and i seen a wire i still got it, but this one is different... confusing bc the wire i just found def was not there before. or maybe it was and i just didnt see it.

 

Looks like you have 2 seperate problems

 

did you try plugging them back in

 

well if u look at pic #2 it is plugged back in, the other one is in my tool box, plugged in or not i gotta reattach the wires, the question is why did the wire deteriate the way they did. im thinking sumthing coulda shorted em, caused sum heat.. the wires all look like they have been dragged on the ground for a few hours.... ill post tomrrow after i see wuts up and let yall kno..
