Default Seafoam treatment

Seafoam treatment today on my 88 xj with 162k runs much smoother at idle and starts in about 1/3 of the time.

On a old vehicle like XJ's its a tough call, you may get a overall cleaner engine and smoother running engine. OR if your engine has damage that is clogged by buildup the seafoam might clean it out and finish off your engine.

I prefer cleaning it by hand.

that is ONLY if you put it in the oil. I would personally never recommend putting seafoam, or any cleaner into oil ever. Lucas Oil Stabilizer every oil change if all I ever do to anything.

As for through the gas or PCV system, it works amazing. removes carbon build up on the valves to prevent a chunk coming loose and jamming in the seat/face of the valve possibility causing a burnt valve happening.

In gas it cleans the fuel pump and lubricates it, also keeps the combustion chamber cleaner preventing carbon buildup and hot spots that can cause preignition, or worse detonation (which is like 2 ignition sources in the chamber igniting the fuel before its supposed to). Oh and cleans injectors too.

Just seafoamed after head gasket replacement. I watch the carbon and water pour out of the exhaust!
