Default scan code

All was calm for months, but check engine light came on yesterday. Two codes thrown, P1694 (no messages received from PCM) and P0740 (TCC Enable Solenoid circuit electrical). The Jeep ran fine with no signs of an issue. So my question is what solenoid might they be talking about? Does enable circuit electrical mean look for a blown fuse? I'm new at code reading, so not sure where to go from here.

P0740 is referring to the torque converter Lock Up solenoid, #3 (C) electrical circuit. See pic. P1694 might be the P0740 issue corrupting the TCM, which is corrupting the PCM.

Many thanks! The trans has been performing flawlessly and the text I read in the article indicates to clear the codes (which I did) and it may not return...just monitor the situation before pursuing. Thanks again!
Note: This may well be an intermittent condition and may not show up again, so clear the code and keep monitoring.

I'm also getting just the P1694. Everything is working, but my ABS (light on constant) Getting it ready for emissions test. Will that give any problems?

I think the emission tests pukes will gig you on the ABS light on.

You may have to spend $100 at the dealer to have them diagnose the ABS system with their DRBIII tool. Find out what's causing the problem and fix it yourself.

The auto parts stores sell scanners that can read ABS codes, if you want that option.

Here's some basic possible causes:

ABS WARNING INDICATOR ALWAYS ON

POSSIBLE CAUSES

ABS RELAY STUCK

ABS RELAY FUSED B+ CIRCUIT OPEN

ABS RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN

CAB INTERNAL OPEN

ABS INDICATOR DRIVER SHORT TO GROUND

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONCERN

What it's about:

ABS AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR

Theamber ABS warning indicator is located in the instrument cluster. It is used toinform the driver that the antilock function has been turned off due to asystem malfunction. On some systems the warning indicator is controlled directlyby the CAB (Controller Anti-Lock Brakes).

Onan XJ, the CAB controls the indicator indirectly. The ABS light relay providesa ground path for the ABSwarning indicator driver. The CAB grounds the ABS light relay control circuitto turn off the indicator.

Ok most likely the cab is shoot, don't even here the motor run at all. Changed out the relay with another one, no change. can always pull relay for test. Was just wondering if there was a way to find out with out going to the dealer thieves.
