I changed the pump today and it fired right up. Then a CEL came on for the sensor. It will not start first crank anymore. Takes a couple tries to get it started then it just dies after 5 to 30 seconds.. where is the camshaft sensor at?

Well I'm distributorless rooster.

I figured that's where it was. So when I do get it to turn over and run for a sec, the sensor clicks.. loud. I'm assuming that means its going out. Would that cause it not to fire up? And then die right after it fires up?

I took it off and cleaned all the powder off of it and it fired right up. Till I shut it off. Now I'm back to square 1. Thoughts?

This doesn't look right to me. But I could be wrong. The center magnet is "broken" off of the sensor. OS it supposed to be attached?

Did you follow the direction to the t in the book that you should have? changing a cam sensor is not a simple yank it out put it back in, get a haynes manual or similer and follow direction's. g/l

She was pretty simple. It's a two screw pop. It's not the whole timeing cylinder. Just the top sensor cap that goes on it that I needed. Threw a new one on and it fired right up and runs like New. My magnet inside my old one had broke off the mount that its on so it was just bouncing around inside. Everything is tip top. No CEL

What does the (pd) stand for? When the CEL came on for the sensor or would come on about 30 seconds after I turned it over. After I replaced it. The light stayed off. Does the undefined code associate with the sensor?
