Default Rust on the underbody

I was under the jeep today and noticed a very small amount of rust at 2 places on the underbody. I would like to prevent this from getting worse. How do I go about that? Sand it then paint over it? Just paint over it? Thanks

Sand it down to bare metal and get some under coating or just get bed liner stuff that stops rust and paint over it

Ok, can I just hand sand that, or do I need a grinder or something?

you can hand sand it just fine might want to pull up the carpet and make sure its not rusting from the top down because the carpet likes to hold water.

POR15 and then bed liner the whole thing bumper to bumper underneath. Inside just POR15 anywhere water can build up. or just do the whole thing to be safe, that stuff is like magic, did it on my 88 camaro and its went 3 winters no rust, well surface on the body, but the belly was spotless.
Rattle can bed liner would work just fine, go rust inhibitor, primer, bed liner, then wait about 5min bed liner a larger area you should be good.
