so ive got some rust on the roof directly above my windsheild. What can I doo to get rid of it? I will post pics tomorrow.

Sand it down, primer it, then paint. Clear coating it wouldn't hurt either.

Sand it down and use POR 15. Then paint over it. Should be good then.

if it is right at your rubber molding make sure to remove the molding so you get all the rust gone the basic principal is to get rid of every bit of rust if you dont you will be doing it again

What grit sandpaper should be used to sand down the rust?

I've got some right in front of the roof rack. The guy I bought it from thought it would be a good idea to paint the roof with herculiner. It wouldn't have been a bad idea, if he would have at least prepped it before just brushing on the herc!!! Now I have to sand all that crap off, use rust converter on the rusted parts, and I'm gonna use those free cans of Plasti-Kote I got from Valspar to redo the whole roof and safari rack.

hi there, I've got a 1994 cherokee with really bad flaking rust, just above the windshield coming through the rubber, any ideas. also it's losing water but no real signs of a leak?

do the same things as theyre telling the poster of this thread to do. also you might want to post in the introductions section as well...
