Elec fan is supposed to stay on when you turn on the defrost right? My fan will run for 30 sec's then off 30 sec's. The whole time its running it does that.

The old guage temp sending unit read real low. This one reading high.

The temp on tstat housing reading under 200 w/ a temp gun.

I am puzzled.

Help.

Please.

Talked to djb and we are pretty sure the guage is lying to me. Tstat housing is only reading around 180-195 w/ a temp gun. Soooo... My system is good. My guage is not.

Where, what type, and how do i get a really good digital readout temp guage? ScanGuage would be great. But alas, i am obdi. So a stand alone unit would be awesome. Thx in advance for any info. And thx to all u guys who help us in need!!! Special thx to jeff for this one!

fan will not stay on all the time when in heat or defrosts on, read the temp where the sender you just replaced is the motor will be cooler in the front than in the rear its furthur away from air circulation

as for the bouncing temp gauge is the cooling fan cycling on and off with the rise and fall of the gauge with the ac/heat/defrost off?

does the ac work if so turn it on and see where the temp goes with both fans running by the temp your gauge show the fan should be coming on

Yeah its always run around the 210 mark. Now runnin over 210 now and nothing has changed but the temp sending unit for guage. Old one was reading low and bouncing around alot. this one reading high but bouncing less.

U can hear the compressor kicking on and when it does the fan does. I think its low on refrigerant (sp?) so the compressor turns on and off. But fans kick on when it engages.

I'm going to put mine on a separate switch so i can turn it on when I want. Summit Racing has a 40 amp relay with the plug for around 6 bucks, a fuse holder and switch are even cheaper. I think the AC comp. triggers the fan so I don't think it will affect the AC (I hope).

Compressor does trigger but temp should also turn it on from temp sending unit in tstat housing right? Right about 218*?
