Default Running Temp

What temp range should a Jeep 4.0L from 1989 be running at after it gets warmed up?

At what temp does the thermostat open at?

190 - 210 F is pretty normal.

OEM thermostat should open at 195.

~200-205 seems to be the norm.

It runs at 195. Thermostat starts opening at about 185, fully open at 195.

FSM says the factory installed t-stat is closed below 195F.

This time of year, right at whatever t-stat you're running. Six mos. from now, temps can easily spike well north of 210. The XJ rad is kinda dinky.

I cruise on the Highway at 210 with a slight drop below 210 every so often. Sitting idle it will slowly rise above 210 and my fan cools it down.
