Default Rpm loss at freeway speed

So I have searched and nobody has really directly ever asked this question or answered it. While driving at highway to freeway speeds(45-55) my jeep will drop the rpms from 2000 to about 1500 and won't raise with pedal push until it gets pushed far enough to kick the rpms up to 3000+. So my question is, is this something all jeeps do or is there a problem I need to sort out?

Jeep info
93 Cherokee sport
4.0 inline six
Automatic aw4 transmission
231 transfer case.
Stock axles and gears
Stock injectors
31" tires

That's about the same speed mine Shifts. To Get more power. Lift off the push Down. You'll get 2k rpms.

Would the o2 sensors throw a code because I don't have one. And could it be the injectors? It ran pretty good today, 50 miles on the freeway at 55. I'm going to contact jeep and see if that's a feature.

They'll usually throw a code.

Has it always done this or just recently?
I'm saying it's probably just your transmission doing it's thing. When it's cruising, it's in top gear to keep the RPMs as low as possible for gas mileage, you won't have very much "power" in this top gear and it will be slow to accelerate. When you need to accelerate, it will drop a gear or sometimes two depending on your speed and how far/fast you hit the gas.

That's what I was thinking but I was just seeing if anybody else had the same thing going on. It seems to help keep the gas down. It just drop sudden when it shifts almost like the gearing is to high for it. And it's always done it but it just finally got the best of my curiosity

When was the last time you changed the tranny fluid? If it's real old it won't shift as smooth.

Worked like a charm. Still a little bit of loss but I think new injectors will help that. I don't think the originals are cutting it anymore. Thank for everybody's in put and help!
