Default Rounded lug nuts

The last lug nut I was taking off the crappy tin covers popped of the nut twisted. Went to put the next size smaller socket on it and when I went to remove it it started to round off the corners. I stopped as soon as it happened so it's not completely rounded. So any way what the best way to get it off. Just a little info it's the 16" aluminum 'icon' rims thanks for any advice

Sounds like you're using 12 point sockets. You should be using 6 points to keep from rounding the corners off. Try that first.

Get yourself a big honking pair of visegrips. Adjust it so that you can barely squeeze them shut Hit it with liquid wrench and go slowly.

Would I be able to put a pipe on the vise grips so I can get better leverage without without busting them? I was hind thinking a pipe wrench myself

Oh yeah, the longer the lever the easier it goes. Saving them on the other hand is a crap shoot...depends on just how badly they like being on there.

Shoot for them just coming out so you can replace them...saving them is just cake.

Find a cheap socket that you don't care about, a Craftsman or something, that is the next size smaller, or maybe two sizes. Hammer it all the way down onto the lug. Then either remove the lug, or break the stud. Good breaker bar and a pipe will help. PB Blaster or Kroil will help more. Good Luck
