rough acceleration at 2 grand

rough acceleration at 2 grand
Well I have had my jeep for a few months now and noticed here lately it gets this wierd rattle/vibration when i get the rpms above 2 grand and then it stops at 2 and a half. Its an 89 xj with the i6

Have you ever tuned it up?
My bet is that the engine mounts and/or trans mount are bad, allowing the exhaust to come in contact with teh trans crossmember.
I'm gonna have to ask:
Since you've acquired this Jeep, have you ever greased the u-joints, checked the trans, transfer case and differential lubes for level and condition?
Have you ever crawled under it and looked around?

I have crawled around under it and changed the oil. I don't think its the exhaust rattlinh cuzz I can feel a loss of power. Like if I put it to the floor the range between 2 and 2 and a half rpms feels sluggish.
