I may just be missing something, but im trying to replace my rear passenger brake light socket on my 01 XJ and i dont know how to remove it. Do i have to cut the wires and feed them into a new one or can i unplug it somewhere?

Cut the wires. Throw the old socket away. Then connect the wires from the new socket pigtail onto the factory wires.
