Rolling back in park/Shifter issues
Ok guys...so im really emberassed about this one. I dicked up a simple swap somehow. My floor shifter was bent. I had to ninja kick the shifter to put it in park and i got another one and swapped it out and it seemed to work perfectly. I started the jeep up and cycled through all the gears and put it back in park. Awesome! Went and took a shower and then drove it to a family members house for a party.
I get in the driveway put it in park turn off the engine and let go of the brakes and it starts rolling back...ok well crap. It appeared to be in neutral even in park but however it wouldnt start. Turn the key and nothing happned. SO! I pulled the console back out and messed with the park lock cable and that made it worse in a way. The jeep now starts, but rolls back in park still, and i lost reverse.
Im really really upset right now. This was supposed to be stupid easy and i dont know how to fix this. Please help guys! I kinda like having reverse!

Does anyone have the factory service manual and can look up how to make the proper adjustments on these cables for me?

Can anyone confirm if this will hurt the tranny? I have someone who will fix it for me but they are 30 miles away.

I feel stupid... The clip for the shifter didnt get snapped in all the way. I didnt see it while sitting in the car but i had someone come over and while they were fiddling and watching i noticed while he tried to shift the cable was being shoved back... Dammit all! Oh well jeep is back up!
