Well if you are going for looks and nothing more a 16 or 17 can look pretty sharp on an XJ, any bigger than that looks chintzy, though if you are into that sort of thing you can go up to like 20 but i think it look uglier than s***. I'd say you best bet is some nice 16's. For offroad performance though, go 15.

Find an old set of Ford Ranger 14x6s with some sweet hubcaps and that would look cool.

Sounds like you want a g ride not a jeep. So buy a box Chevy and find a different form. 24s are not for off road on a stock jeep. Oh you could get a ricer too. Or any other useless
P.o.s.

Yeah I agree, for offroad you want the smaller wheels. Less likely to damage them and you get more tire flex.

Run a search there are on here about going from 2wd to4wd. And about everyone talking crap about bigger rims who cares what he wants its not yours so why even post on here. I have 15s because thats what I like but what if he wanted to do 20s let him.

I guess I shouldn't be sooooo ya. I like jeeps cause they are rugged and reliable. I guess not every one gets into it for the same reasons. But a 4x4 swap is pretty strait forward. A junk yard will be your best friend. And if you pull it your self it'll cost less and give you more confidence. You'll need a t case linkage and center council drive shafts (2) front and rear and front axle. I would use parts from a 91-99. Just make sure you get the right gears.

20's might look decent on a ZJ, but i just don't see how they could look good on an XJ. but no two tastes are the same. everyone likes something different. i know a guy has 30's with 2" tall sidewall. the bigger the wheels, the more it's gonna loose ride comfort, i think.
