Default Is this the right place for a fan?

When Im wheelin it still gets a little hot. With 3 fans and vents in the hood it should do fine, right? I think I saw an episode of extreme and they said if a fan is too close it wont cool, and if its too far away(abviously) it wont cool.

IS it too close? Thanks for any help!

I like the advice of the different thermo and mix of fluids

Still have your mechanical fan too?

If the electric one is not a "pusher" then you might just be recirculating the air right on top of the radiator...pushing and pulling against each other maybe

Is you radiator clean? By that I mean at night shine a flash light at one side and see if you can see all the way through all of it. You shouldn't need 3 fans! Dose you mechanical fan have a shroud? You can put a new t stat in or try to bleed your coolent system. To do that you put your jeep on a 15 degree decline. Park *** end high on a hill or jack up the rear end. Then take out the rear temp sensor on the top side of the head by the fire wall. Then let it run a gallon of coolent out keep it running while you put it back in. If prob persists flush the system. Still a prob new radiator or head gaskit. Still a prob lol get a new head. If all that don't fix it new motor! I would have dune all of this and never used a 3ed fan. I couldn't keep mine clean even with hundreds oh dollars at the power washer just on that. So I put it in the rear! My xj is chopped

Looks to be a fine position, have you made an override switch for your aux fan? having that run full time while wheeling will save you temps and prevent you from having to add extra fans like you've done here.

Keep in mind you can't really shave too much heat because the engines operating temp is 205-210 if i'm not mistaken. Cooling it below that is actually not suggested and I also wouldn't suggest putting in a different tstat.

i've never heard of anybody needing 3 fans??? i have seen at times when people use a pusher and a puller directly in front of each other, one fan outperforms the other thus stopping air flow completely. maybe an aux oil cooler with a fan or synthetic oil: cooling your oil may help stabilize engine temps.
