Replacing rear main seal with transmission out
Hi guys,
Currently doing a clutch replacement and have the tranny dropped.
I've heard this is a good time to replace the rear main seal.
I have the engine/oil pan supported on a floorjack as everyone recommends.
My question is how can I support the engine if I'm taking off the oil pan to replace the rear main seal. Is there a better lift point? I don't have a hoist.
Should I just finish the clutch/put the tranny back and do the RMS another time?
Thanks,
newb

You can support the rear of the engine with a chain and something going across the top of the engine compartment it can be a pipe or some 2x4s . that way you can remove the floor jack .
