replacing motors

Could really use some help with knowing if i can take a 91 4.0 from a 91 cherokee, and put it into a 99 cherokee. Will it work or is there a BUTT load of crap i need to replace

Welcome. It will fit but a lot of electronics are different such as wiring harness and such

Thanks wanting to keep my jeep, have done so much with the 91. Now I have a 99, and now I get to do better things with the 99. This site ROCKS

The block will fit. The 99 has a different intake manifold and the PS pump is completely different on the 99 from your 91.

Use the 99 intake on your 91. It's supposedly better and makes more power/economy. Probably reuse the 99 exhaust manifold too.

Just move the sensors/wiring from the 99 to your 91.

Save the 99 and make a stroker motor. Replace again next year.
