Replaced CPS, now throwing P1694 code
Had a crank, but no start situation on a 2001 Jeep Cherokee. Wound up changing the CPS, starts and runs fine, has so for a couple of weeks now that I have changed the CPS. New problem is though that it is throwing a P1694 code. Any thoughts?

Yeah, good luck. I recently pulled my dash to replace the heater core and upon reconnecting everything Im getting the same code. Apparently the trany isnt communicating with the computer, but really, Ive got two threads going on the subject here and hardly anyone with a response. No response saying the problem is "X". Maybe some dirt, maybe a bad connection, maybe a bad ground, etc. Thats all I can get for answers so good luck. Ill be watching this thread closely.

I think it is unlikely that replacing the crank sensor is involved in this one. This is probably a new issue.

I did have one guy come to the house back at the beginning of the CPS oddyssey and he had unplugged the harnesses going into the PCM. I'll try and do what the provided link stated to do.
