I've checked everything except fuel pressure. Def getting fuel and spark... It has been raining for a few days but I have never had problems with rain before... Is there something that may have thrown a code with the air filter and won't let it start? I'm at a loss... I did find a wire coming out of the coil plug the wasn't connected to anything and gets power while engine cranks here is pics

 

Any codes? So you found a connecter that was not connected to anything and you plugged it together? Did you go all ape**** when you changed the air filter?

 

plug it in and try it. it looks like it goes to the coil. ill check mine now.

 

its to the coil. you shouldn't of had spark with that disconnected. but it does go to the coil. plug it in and try to start it.

 

The plug plugs into the coil I pulled it Pi for the pic so u can see how the red wire comes out of it but goes no where but has power and the coil pulses... And it did flash a code 12 and 14 so could it be bad map sensor? It kinda makes sense... But could the wire coming out of the coil plug be a problem too?

 

Did you knock the wires off
the fuel pump ballast resistor?

 

i think codes 12 & 14 are battery disconnect and/or cpu not grounded. idk man...maybe that grounds it all out. i dont want to tell you the wrong thing.

do you have power to the red wire? put a lead on it and then the other lead to a ground. see if you have 12v.

 

The plug is for the ignition coil I just unplugged it so I could get the pic of the red wire that is coming from the plug and was not connected to anything didn't look like it was fresh cut but it pulses with the coil when engine is cranking... and yes it flashed 12 and 14 code.. So does that mean its the map sensor because that would make sense ? Because i have fuel and spark and i even shot a spray of starter fluid and nothing not Even the slightest try to start... But I still need to know what that red wire is for... It almost looks like it was put into the plug by someone not factory... But why would they do that? Idk who has owned this jeep or what they did to it? But it has ran great until I pulled the crusty old air filter out and moved it about fifteen feet forward with the air box open earlier this week

I don't see this exact setup on mine... This is wat mine looks like by the air box..and this looks like the resistor u speak of and it trashed but has been like that since I bought it

 

I see. The difference in the photos seems rather obvious to me. Here's why they're not exact. The ballast resistor in my photo is not broken in half!!

Jump the two wires on the ballast resistor and see what happens.

 

Yea lol I see that but it has been like that since I got it and ran fine. What exactly does it do because I finally got it started and it ran for thirty mins and I shut it off now it seems to be struggling for fuel when I hit the pedal and won't stay runnin

Unplug both wires off your cracked in half fuel pump ballast resistor. Jumper the wires together bypassing the resistor.
