Replace Fog lights with aftermarket?
Hi guys i new to the forum. I am waiting for my new bumper to come in Thursday. I will have to get rid of my stock fog lights and i was going to replace them with some Pro Comp Or Hella 55w lights. Do you think i could just wire them to my stock switch i would like to keep that switch and not have to put a aftermarket one in. Do you think the stock wiring and switch will handle a pari of these lights?? Thanks

You can keep the switch but use the stock wiring to activate a relay. Then I would use better wiring from the battery to the relay and from the relay to the new lights.

I just swapped my factory fogs over to some hella 500's, just hooked them up to the existing wires at the bumper, it works fine and if anything the existing wires were thicker than those provided by hella.

Hey ROY94XJ how long have you had them hooked up? I think that it would handle a small pair of lights but i just wasn't sure? If all else fails it will just melt the switch i would think. I think i may try it? Do you like thos Hella 500's? Are they 55W? I think that would be all that i would need?

They've been hooked up since the weekend and only tested for like a minute but i'd read on here the stock wiring was fine for 55w so it must be true. They look much better than the stock ones but can't comment on performance as I never used the stock ones and haven't had a chance to test these ones yet. I'm sure they will be sufficient for my needs.
