a little run down 1990 4.0 aw4.i replaced the engine 3 weeks ago with a low mile 98 4.0.i have replaced every sensor except map, intake temp (tested good may not be idk)and cps(i did replace it but had no spark when i try to fire up the first time put old one back)i did cruisers ground mod ,fixed the the sensor grounds at crimp in harness.it runs like crap on start up runs rich and ruff for like 2 or 3 min as soon as it gets some heat it clears up and run really well...also the tps has been replaced and adjusted per cruisers directions

For good cold start behaviour, I've found my Renix very sensitive to a well functioning throttle position sensor.
We've been thru a few over the years, had a couple of Napa, currently on an OEM from Chrysler. This cold winter had excellent starts and idles right from -30 and up.
Cruiser also has data on the TPS test for auto and manual trans.

I'm assuming that all the connectors are on a shiny dipstick tube stud?

You didn't miss one?

CTS is plugged in?

The wires, where they go by the power steering pump down to )2 sensor and CTS. You didn't route them near the exhaust manifold instead?

How's the vacuum line to the MAP sensor from the throttle body?

Make sure there are no leaks along the length and at the ends of that line. Make sure the connector is snapped into the MAP sensor good and tight.

Yes mine were near the manifold, but it was the heat shield cutting in and grounding things.

When my stock injectors were leaking it would miss a second after starting sometimes. You might "someday" do the fuel pressure leak-down test. I forget exactly, but it should hold near pressure for 20 min, or something like that.
