renix idles rough after kick down adjustment
I was adjusting my kick down cable tonight and when i went to start the jeep for a test drive a couple weird things happened. With it being a renix, my jeep usually takes 1 to 2 seconds of cranking to start, but when i went to start it, it fired almost as soon as the starter engaged which is really weird, I have never had that happen before. When it started, it would barely idle. It was really rough and low. It was also blowing smoke, and with a motor that has less than 1000 miles on it, really worries me. I am pretty sure i adjusted the cable right, but I think I messed something else up, or would the kick down cable do this to the jeep if improperly adjusted? Any help would be nice as this is my daily driver. Thanks in advance.

I solved Rubics cube with no help, but that adjustment ...I have mine set with no play, and no tension in the cable. I can't say I know that is perfect but all seems to work great.
Sheez. I hope that was black smoke related to the MAP tube or a fuel problem, and not white steam or blueish oil smoke.

Hey thanks for the advice guys, it turns out that i bumped the map sensor vac line and unplugged it. I had completely overlooked it last night because it was dark out, but i saw it this morning and plugged it back in. So thanks again.
