Hey guys,
I was refreshing my grounds the other day. When I removed the dipstick ground the grounds seperated (two sets of wires attached) and sparked. Now my 89 renix XJ will not start. It cranks but I get nothing. I have had an issue with hard starting before but I was working on that. I replaced the cap, fuel filter, spark plugs, cleaned the chassis ground. It was still hard starting at the point that I started the dipstick ground. I was wondering what could have happened by the sparking between the wires when i removed them from the engine block. Does this mean I need to now replace all of my sensors and possibly my ECU? Thanks guys.

Well I feel like an idiot. I forgot that I unplugged one of the spark plug wires when I did this. I solved the problem and it starts up now... Thanks for the help.

Cruiser I am. Today/tomorrow I am going to do the c101 refresh. I thought my 89 was exempt, but I just found it under my PA. I feel silly for not looking the before. I am also installing a rubicon express track bar and when they come in on Monday, the front shocks which are the bilstein 5100's. I am also doing a diff fluid swap on both axles. Also I'm going to change my thermostat and get an alignment.

I am pretty sure that it is the c101. Look at the pictures. This is driver side to the right of the brake booster if you're looking from the front of the vehicle.

That is good news. Now I just have to put the extra ground by the fusebox then. Thank God I don't have to clean the c101... I want looking forward to that at all.
