We did. It was sputtering the whole time. It back fired a few times after initial start up after installing the new cps. It wants to die if I lightly accelerate for take off from a dead stop.

Is it more like an electrical misfire or a bog from lack of fuel?
I like your test track!!

It seems like a bog. I keep thinking timing. When I initially take off from a dead stop it wants to die then I let off and it comes back. But if I accelerate just a little more it will drive fine. But I have to find that sweet spot In the throttle or it just sputters. Do I need to redo the tps after everything I have done? I did disassemble the throttle body and clean it

Greenhorn Northern California

My brother was minding his own business driving down the road and a redwood fell and landed on the bed of his truck. He had to replace the rear axle and make a temporary setup to go play. Someone is definitely watching over him.

a while back and reassembled it without knowing the throttle plate needs to be in a certain place.

I had a newer coil on it. Maybe six months old. And I just installed the new icm. Same symptoms. If I record the sound of the exhaust could I post it on here?

Pulled the throttle body off, removed tps and iac. Cleaned the throttle bottle meticulously with carb cleaner and brushes. readjusted the butterfly. gently cleaned the iac. Reinstalled everything. Adjusted the tps. And still sputters and backfires.

What does the B to C reading do when you move the throttle linkage?

What is that bottom voltage reading on the MAP?

I didn’t see the part about automatic transmissions. I will go back today and redo it using the square connector that is for the transmission.

Default Correct connector this time

I back probed the correct connector for an automatic transmission this time. I ended up doing it three times. The third time I held it in its highest position.(twisted counter clockwise as much as possible) and got 3.77. So I divided 3.77 by .83 and got 4.53. I’m currently in the test drive. It seems to have more power on demand. Reaching speeds of 70mp. But it is still sputtering and back firing.

Does that mean something if I was getting these readings with the ignition off?

I installed a new o2 sensor I had laying around and took it on a test drive. Still back firing and sputtering.
