I was probing into the B location. I took a break and replaced my door pins and adjusted the striker plate and got rid of my sagging door. You got me inspired to work on it. Thank you.

Try probing another sensor's ground next. They're all on the same ground circuit.

Was your jeep used as the filming rig for the James Bond movie where he drives his car underwater? Those connectors show some signs of rot.

Default A little side tracked

So I got a little side track on the list and rand into the aftermarket radio wiring issue. I have no gauge cluster lights and my clock shuts off when I turn my headlights on. I ran into some interesting wiring under the steering wheel from the PO, I need to figure it out and then I will try to get back to the list tomorrow.

Default Relay under the steering column

I found that the relay under the steering column has been spliced into the starter relay wire coming from the ignition. Not sure what is going on there. Should I remove it?

Sounds like the "Security" system in my 300. The actual purpose of the hackery under that dash was for the dealer to be able to disable the car by cell phone and set off the panic alarm system if you were more than 15 seconds late on your payment so they could come and repo it. Too bad for all the later owners that have to deal with the butchered harness and the occasional random panic that can not be resolved with the fob for the actual security system.

Hard question to answer without seeing it or being there.

The relay is attached to the dark green wire in the ignition wiring. The diagram states it is the starter relay. The weird thing is the green wire is the only wire going into the relay. The rest of the relay is jumped.

Default Thank you cruiser

I noted that, that is what made me ask if I should remove it. (and solder the green wire back together). I’m not to familiar with the Jeep’s wiring or history. I didn’t know if that was there for a reason. It has a resistor on it which made me think someone familiar put it there for a reason. Thank you again for your help. Truly appreciated. I ordered a cps, mine was reading .3. I also order shift solenoids and a trans filter.
