As I remember both wires are black...that was a long time ago. Guess one is the heater and one is the 5v from PCU? Guess ground the 5V and see what changes? By the By, would you know what timing does in open vs closed...that might be an easy way to get a peek at what it's thinking.
Yea, with it unplugged.
Yea, with it unplugged.
Renix O2 sensors are not like most current oxygen sensors. Be careful when testing. www.lunghd.com or something like that has the testing procedure for the O2 sensors. The sensors were designed to last between 60K and 70K miles FWTW.
Flintstone: Did you get my email about the sensor circuit grounds?
With the DRB hooked up, I've seen no change in timing whether in closed or open loop.

Yes, and my thanks again. You mean the mail that got this reply:
"Mornin ****:
"I saved your file with the Onan Gen. And Servel 3-Way Manuals, for when I have time to tinker, home up north." (that's a place of honor!)
And thanks for putting the timing idea to bed for good. Was hoping there might be an easy shortcut to simply see if a Renix is in open or closed loop. I gather that even in closed loop it might not necessarily be right, but in open loop mileage will "necessarily" suck. The smart-*** thing should have a "your funding OPECK" light!
I'm thinking about building a "Pit", or 1/2 pit on a slope where I'm thinking of building (another) shop. That would make trying Sam's idea a 5 minute job. I'm boneheaded enough to stumble onto unexpected solutions. I'll let you guys know what I broke....eventually....Don.
