Might I take a moment to get on my soapbox. I've only been using this forum for a few month (mainly cuz I never woulda guessed such a forum existed) but I have noticed a few problems. The XJs of the 80s are nothing like the last few years they were made yet we all share the same forum with the same answers for the NOT same problems. Look down a bit and you will see that I have owned plenty of both but some of the guys who own one generation or the other HAS NOT owned the other yet is still offering advice on the thread. Examples would be someone with a 95 posting about a non functional 4X4 system and someone chiming in for him to check the front end disco or a no start on a 01 and someone suggesting they check their distributor or their fuel pump ballast
There is also the problem of the older generation owners trying to persuade someone to not buy a later model one cuz there's only an 8HP difference and they get the same gas mileage if not better. Believe me in my experience, all my Renix Jeeps seem to get 5mpg or more less that my newer ones and the power output may only be measured at 8hp more but in reality the power output is like comparing a LT1 to a LS1 GM engine. If you never owned a later model one you might not know this and might not want to persuade someone to buy one if there is only this small difference. I've seen from such posts as someone not knowing why their headlights stay on when they turn the switch off after the engine that some people are very new to Jeeps and their oddball systems and gemlins. I'm not bashing Renix or anything I'm just saying that people that have never owned newer that a 90 and haven't had extensive mechanical encounters with the late model ones to not chime in on troubleshooting a 00 model or something. That's my 2 cents so go ahead and b***h and gripe and tell me what an idiot I am but I just wanted to point out this very real problem

And while I'm thinking about it, steering stabelizers don't do s**t to prevent or cause death wobble on ANY model XJ from start to finish of production

It helps me.
We seem to have a pretty big influx of noobs as of late. That's fine. They just need to be reminded to fill out their profiles, corrected as necessary when they don't realize all Jeeps aren't like theirs and vice versa, and politely reminded to use capital letters and punctuation..

For what it's worth, a lot of people seem to be using the phone app which does not show signatures or profile data. This is not obvious to someone who has never used it before and normally posts from a real web browser.
