Default Renix Cherokee Bump Stops

So I have an '88 XJ without bump stops and I'm changing the springs soon, but I'd like to put some in while I have the springs off. Question is, are they bolt in or press in?

The rubber nub is hand pressed in. The retainer thing that looks like a bell is bolted on.

PERFECT, that's exactly what I was looking for. Also, with 4.5" springs, should I get the 1.5" extended bump stops?

Actually, I'll probably have to measure for them when I measure for shocks.

If I put the retainer thing on while the spring is off, do you think I could squeeze the bump stop through the spring later?
