Renix bottle cap #703-1396

On my first trip up my hill it puked 1/2 a gallon of coolant. I didn't think to feel the hose for pressure right then, but a minute later if was soft. Did I get the wrong cap? What gives I wonder?

That looks different from mine, but that really doesn't mean much.

My 87 and 89 both had smaller black caps IIRC.

Yea Gee Oh Dee, It's something different..I still have the stock (one's)

Idk Pete.... I wonder if its a lower pressure? I'll give her another go. ...Rare chance my e-fan failed the day I changed caps! (Doubt it though).

It's a higher pressure actually. Unless your threads are messed up on the bottle. Remove the cap when it cools off. Spray some silicone on the threads and reinstall it. TIGHT.

Those are. The green one is an upgrade for those of us still using the closed system. They fit tighter, even on a crappy bottle, and have a higher working pressure. the added bonus is that they aren't as tall and tend not to rub the hood when the bottle expands.

Yes, the black ones in the picture are stock.

That's the one you need.

The blue one probably has a lower pressure spring.

The blue one has a higher pressure rating. He either doesn't have it on tight enough, the threads on his bottle are totally trashed, or possibly got a defective one.

I'm still closed loop at the moment.

And I've got like 3 pressure bottles and at least 2 caps.

I'm all but positive it's on right and tight. I double checked the edge was smooth. I'll spray silicone the threads and watch things more carefully next..assent.

Yea Ge O D, it's still a closed system...the Renix cap actually does have a spring and relief.....
