OK, thanks. I'm not sure why I'm going to higher pressure. (or trying to). I've blown enough bottles already! I have the caps to prove it! This taller one definitely has a spring ect. Not sure on the others. It had been fine, just "up grading". Edit.. actually it was "almost fine" I was loosing a little coolant and there was a brown ring of rust around under the cap, is why the up-grade. I had the green one hell-of tight, but I'll silicone the threads and give it another try. If it pukes again tomorrow I'm just putting the little black one back, I'll need to.
Yea, about 8$ at Napa here for the green one.
I'm not positve but I may have gotten a bottle from a Wagy at some point. Maybe that's the tall cap which may have hit the hood.

Ha! Well after blowing three in almost 12 years....the engine is more "baptized" than toasted! Now that I get it to be sure to leave it at least 1/2 empty, maybe they will last longer. Idk.

Myself and many others have had no such issues in years of doing this. The pressure differential between the caps is minimal. The real advantage to the Volvo cap is that it SEALS, unlike the rest that are available from WunHungLo and his comrades.

Isn't the "full" line on these about 1/4". I thought I read somewhere its just above that piece inside the bottle?

I just got a bottle from O'Reilly's a couple of weeks ago.
The 'low" line is 1/4 of capacity, the "full" line is 3/4 of the way up. It came with a black cap.
It's lighter in weight than the OEM version. Thinner. But still has the metal sleeve in the heater hose nipple on the top side.
It says "China" on the bottom. I wasn't surprised. It was also cheaper than Jeep by $20, wholesale to wholesale. O'Reilly's had it on the shelf, Jeep dealer would have to order it.
When I bought a Jeep bottle in '07, the cap was extra cost.

On my 87 I was having issues with the cap, ended up putting a hose clamp around the cap. I eventually ordered the tank from MacsRadiator. Was worth the money.

BTW, Napa offers a lifetime warranty on their bottles. I just keep bringing them back every 2 years when they begin to crack.

Never heard of it. Good thing I live with a Russian linguist and he told me that babooshka means grandmother. Unless you know another definition.
I don't claim to live in NY. Just on the army base of Fort Drum. I don't wanna be affiliated with this state. Man its gonna suck when I move off base soon....

Well, fog was in, 20* cooler today. I got another "one hour" (30*), of turn on it with the silicone spray. My threads are, and have been fine...there might be some slight miss-match on the threads. Maybe not really the pitch, but just how they are cut. It was on real tight before. E-Fan didn't come on that I saw. It didn't leak.
Agreed that's not allot of extra pressure. Then again I'm not thinking I needed any.
Down the road I want to simply put in a regular in-line 18 Lb filler cap and use the bottle for a recovery tank and see how that works. I did look a few months back, but the price of a decent in-line deal put me off. (35-$45) A local Radiator shop could fab me one for $20 labor if I had the right 6 in. piece of 1-1/2 inch brass pipe and the neck pictured below. I didn't find the pipe at the time.
skosh ss-co-cha (the cha sounds like in "Chihuahua") *** Crucial note. Googel figured out I was trying to type Chihuahua, where Websters dictionary didn't!
It refers to approximately the width of a human hair found below the belt level...Guess I'll stop there.
You can just take a propane torch to any old brass radiator and un-solder the neck. Shop here says he can flatten a spot on a 6 inch brass tube, cut the hole, and solder this on for $20. I'd rather spend that (or a little more) locally, then spend twice that. The only brass kitchen drain pipe I could find had pits.
