i have 3" of lift and have to run 26" of brakeline, 14" isnt nearly enough

You have no fab skills what so ever. Anybody with fab skills would have never done what you did to that jeep. Why dont you just save up and so it the right way? instead of doing it your "redneck" way which is the WRONG way. Horrible :thu mbdown:

Have you ever looked at those clamps? They are a flimsy little piece of steel that do not hold the spring in place, I have seen a number of them give during flex, if those springs come off on the top, those "clamps" as you call them won't slow them a bit.

Do us all a favor and park that wreck til you can lift it right, your gonna give Jeep a bad name when you kill innocent people with that contraption.

A buddy sent me a link to this because I tend to be an optimist when it comes to freaky fab simply to encourage folks to learn more but be careful....
I have seen this setup before and thankfully the factory control arms bottom out on the lower shock mounts before the springs pop out. I wouldn't recommend this setup to anyone thinking this is a safe alternative to a full length coil unless both ends are restrained via coil straps bolting the spring firmly in place. Yet in my experience I have yet to see a stock spring pop out because they extend so much farther than lift springs when unloaded. I have picked up quite a few red and gray springs (you know what I mean) out of the dirt because of how little spring back comes from a lift coil. Lift blocks create more axle wrap but they don't kit people if that was the case they wouldn't be standard equipment on most production pickup trucks.
Elitist views on fab work can stay with the elite Jeepers, Folks shouldn't be chastised for saving a few bucks when they see it unnecessary. BUT!!!! AND I DO EMPHASIZE MY CONJUNCTION!! safety should always remain first priority whether on the street or trail. Finish the job lock down that coil make sure it steers and stops properly, then go tear some **** up!

Not sure whats up with your rig, my lower shock mounts clear my LCA's with at least an inch to spare. It's my LCA mounts that keep my Jeep from flexing enough to pop a spring loose.
From an optimistic point of view on his lift, moving his bumpstop below the makeshift coil spacers might ber enough to keep the spring from popping loose, but as it looks from the pictures, he only has about an inch of the bump stop holding the spring.

I understand saving money and cutting corners, the rear is doable, the front BUY SOME LONGER SPRINGS. A guy was just selling a set of 6 1/2 springs for 100 bucks on here the other day. What he has going on is not safe in the loosest meaning of the word.

I totally agree about the bumps and the longer springs but some folks just wont spring for them. I see it over and over again. I'm just offering a few cents on a solution for the guy that just wont buy the springs. from spring nuts to stacked pucks to welding springs to springs(Yikes never do any of that!!!!) so many folks pride themselves on trying to find ways around coming up with the cash. Before I shut down and started manufacturing I saw so many guys that just will not put up the cash to do something right yet were too darn stubborn not to try anyway... I feel its a little irresponsible to bash them instead of trying to steer them to a safe solution that they are willing to actually try. Its all of our butts on the line.

Once everybody realizes that somebody is always going to have a bigger and badder jeep than theirs because somebody is always going to have more money than all of us, and just enjoys the sport as well as the build I hope in this situation more constructivism can be offered, That's all I'm suggesting.

they don't pop out and im not worried about it right now. i take it to Badlands in indiana all the time and never have a problem with it. i agree with ironmanandy bout how it the springs will not pop out. yall are just to chicken to try it urselves and see that it does work.
