I avoid FRAM! They are cheap! Made for yeasterday's oil... not today's oil if that makes sense. cheaper is NOT better in this case.....

Fram's cheap construction has been documented to result in chunks of the oil filter dislodging and being distributed throughout the engine. This is especially important due to the horizontal mounting on the 4.0. Also, because of the poor anti-drainback valve, there is a marked increase in dry starts (period of little to no lubrication upon start up) which is where a very high percentage of engine wear occurs. If you google "problems with fram filters" you will find a plethora of information about problems associated with fram oil filters. It's best to avoid them.

^^^^ x2 he hit the nail on the head. Now can we all drop the nonsense? I really see no need in another "Fram is bad" thread seeing as we already have like 30 already....

Yeah, I just posted in another one of em too... I keep telling myself no more oil or oil filter threads... haha

Lol i try to stay out of them myself, especially in the warm seasons.... I just feel a need to share knowledge i guess.

I just saying they have never failed me then I will change but if you maintain your rig thats all that matters I mean my miliage is enough said
