Default Recall on 1994 Cherokee

i went online and requested my jeep build sheet and after looking through it i noticed on the bottom it said:

"Our records indicate that the following recall campaign(s) have not been performed by an authorized dealer:

747 - DISC BRAKE ROTORS

We suggest that you contact your local authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®
or Ram dealer to make arrangements for an inspection and, if necessary,
corrective action."

if i brought my jeep in would they still replace this for free even though the recall is over 14yrs old?

I think the service guy would laugh so hard, the moon would get an extra crater. Could ask though.

Safety recalls are generally for the life of the vehicle. Contact the dealer and let us know what they say.

Yes! They will still take it in since it is a safety recall item. I just had my 98 XJ rotors changed out last year for the same recall. Just remember all they will do is change out the rotors and nothing else.

Go to Jeeps website. Start an account (they're free) then you go to the "owners" section and you can request build information such as dealer options etc.. This part of their site has been acting up lately so you might have to actually email them and request a build sheet.

Honestly I'm not sure how you guys are collecting on this recall. The recall is for the rotors installed at the manufacturer and if you have a 92 with the original rotors you must have the longest lasting brakes in the world. But hey, if you can get new rotors for free jump on that ****! I know there is also a recall for the steering box brace, if any of you have gone to the dealer for this recall I'd be interested to know how long it took them to do it. I've been meaning to bring mine in for that but I can't afford to be without a car for more than a day or two.

I took mine in to get inspected for the recall and the rotors were so rusted they couldn't find the markings on them so they replaced them anyway.

Anyone went in for the recall with larger offroad tires? Thinking they might say the heavier tires void the recall
