Loud intermittent tick when cold, will quiet if I shut down then restart motor, goes away when hot. Runs very well otherwise. I figure the only thing it could be is a collapsed lifter.
I’d rather not have this motor apart for too long, it’s being stored outdoors.
Is there a company that sells rebuilt heads that are ready to bolt in? I’m in the Boston MA area.

My advise? Just drive it! Don't tear a good running motor apart just for a little lifter noise that goes away. After all, it's a jeep! Besides that, a cylinder head won't do a thing but lighten your wallet.
