Rear Trunk door will not open in any way shape or form. Ive tried unlocking it from the Main Panel at the Drivers Side Door as well as using a key in the back to unlock it. It unlocks no problem.
Just cannot open the damn thing.
Ive tried WD-40 and a few other lubricants in the key hole itself as well as the pistons & Nothing has worked...
Any Ideas?

and lighting a match... Some Dr Seuss sounding **** lol
If that doesn't work you can try pulling the trim off the hatch from the inside, from there you should be able to poke around and pull the linkage with something.

Yeah, try pushing next to the handle and opening. This happened to me once, I had to crawl into the back, take a couple screws out that hold on the plastic cover, pry it open and fit my arm into the opening and pull the latch. Make sure you properly adjust it once it opens as I didn't think about until I shut it again.

Ive literally tried everything except taking the trim off.
So far the only thing that was working was literally kicking the door and then pulling it and it magically opened but now thats not even working.
Im thinking maybe the realse rod is off the hatch. But who knows?
Its never been hit.

I once closed my hatch down on my old iphone. For some reason that messed up the latch and I literally have to hit on the right side of the hatch right beside the handle while pulling the handle to get it to open. Sometimes takes a few bangs.
Eventually ill take the trim of and check it out but for right now its good theft protection

Bimmer got his blankie stuck in the lift gate once. He made a huge church out of a $hithouse on that one. I think even members of non-Jeep forums came over just to beat on him. LOL
Oh, and OP, cars have trunks. Jeep Cherokees have Lift Gates.
