i have the 1996 2dr jeep. i have managed to get my driver and passenger doors to work my dome light. but i don't see a switch in my lift gate. where is it? is there supposed to be one somewhere. i have notice when i drive on rough road that my dome light will flicker. i don't think that would be from my driver and passenger dome light switch which leads me to believe somewhere is something making it flicker. im thinking something on my lift gate i would imagine it shifts around and causes it to do that. any ideas.

Thanks to some of the helpful info I found on this Cherokee Forum, I traced my 2000 Cherokee Sport liftgate dome light issue to the switch in the assembly in the liftgate. I found that if I closed the gate gently, sometimes the interior lights would not go off. But if I closed the gate with more force, the lights went off. I sprayed some lube onto the linkages before putting the panel back on and alerted my daughter, who drives the Jeep, to always check it after closing the gate to avoid getting stranded somewhere on a dark, rainy night, far away from home with a dead battery. Thanks guys. Great forum.
