Year: 1996
Model: Cherokee
Engine: 6 cyl
Which rear end do I have
New to cherokees and I see by reading posts that there are different axle/rear end/differentials which I might have. Some are apparently better than others. Same with transfer cases? How do I tell which I have and which are the best. Sorry If this is a repeat but I did a search and couldn't find this out. Notice I said which rear end not what kind of rear end ... some might recognize me and tell me what I don't want to hear.

if i had a dollar for every thread that asked this. use these and note the 8 1/4 has a flat bottom on the housing.

Thank you Gents. I'm on to adding a trailer hitch, 2' budget lift w/shocks,some soundproofing and perhaps a front bumper. Maybe a rear spare rack. Anyone know anything about Tomkim accessories in Colorado?
