Rear bump stops stock size and bolts
I am looking to replace the factory bump stops on my 1996 xj because they're completely gone and then use a DPG rear bump stop plate to use hockey pucks on the bottom for proper size. First what are the size of the original bolts because they are gone. Second what is the size of the stock bump stops and where can you find them.

Well assuming it was a stock suspension the bump stops are 74 mm or 2.9".
Part number 52004297.
If it came with the Up Country Suspension they are 104 mm or 4.1"
Part number 52002393.
When I replaced the ones in my '00 I snapped one bolt. So instead of trying to drill it out just punched it into the uni-body.
Used my riv nut gun to put in a riv nut. The hole is a 1/2' which is the proper size for a 5/16"- 18 riv nut.
Which I want to say is the size of all those bolts. I don't remember the exact length but it was short. 1" maybe.
Here is a shot of the factory ones next to what was left of one of my bump stops.
Here is a shot of the riv nut I put in the one I busted.
Shiny brass colored one on the left.

p.s. Stock Jeeps that never go offroad don't even need bump stops.
