Replacing my rear bump stops - no one seems to know, including the dealers, if the 3" or the 4" bump stop is needed.
I have a seriously deteriorated one that looks to be 3" on the passenger side
1. Can someone chime in with whether the 3" or 4" is needed on stock XJ sport
2. Are the same size on both sides?

Interesting question cause I have been wondering about something concerning bump stops myself.
So in my '94 to '96 parts catalog there are 2.
5200 4297 Height = 74mm
5200 2393 Height = 104mm
My '00 parts catalog is a little clearer about this.
Longer ones are for the Up Country suspension and the shorter for a regular suspension.
74mm equals 2.91" so I say that one since you think the one you have is 3"
Which are these:
Same ones I bought for my '00 with a regular suspension. Both sides.
Now to steal your thread. LOL.
If you do an Up Country lift on an XJ that is a DD is it necessary to use longer bump stops?
My understanding is that they limit travel of shocks and keeping tires from getting to far up in
wheel wells when wheeling. I get it.
But since the Up Country Suspension, best I can tell uses HD versions of regular shocks
that I am also guessing have the same travel, is it still necessary?

I am interested in the up country answer also because I upgraded my suspension. My GUESS is yes the bigger bump stops are needed because everything else stayed the same and the 104 mm part being available in the catalog.
Others please chime in.
