Default Really bad squeal. Please help!

I hadn't started my jeep in about 3 days and this morning I went to start it. It didn't start the first two times but it fired right up the third time. The weird part was that it started making a really loud squeal that sounds like its coming from around the passenger side firewall. It sounds like one of those squeaky wheels and it will get louder and louder and then faster and then it will just stop. It did it again after school only this time I had only turned the ignition on (motor was NOT running) and it made the same squeal. It would do the same thing. If I turned it off right after then started again it did NOT squeal. If left alone for a couple hours it WILL squeal. What could this be?!?!

Do the belts even turn when the engine is not running?

Honestly, I'm not a mechanic so I'm not sure, but if my engine was making a noise like that the first thing I would look at would be the belts. Not sure what else it would be, does it sound like metal on metal?

Does the squeak get higher when the rpms go up? Like when you step on the pedal?
